My house is finally in order...

Our year started with a few goals and a lot of cleaning. We'll start with the cleaning.

On Saturday the 6th Jarom and I spent all day (at least 6 hours) cleaning and organizing our apartment for 2012. It hasn't been so organized since before we moved in. The 2 places that really needed help were the kitchen and master bathroom. When we moved in I just kind of threw things places and we finally went in and organized it the way we wanted it.

The Master Bathroom Before:

After.

It feels good when you have a clean house but when you know places other people don't normally see are clean and organized... that feels even better.

Now the goals.

This year I have 2 New Years resolutions. I started to feel like everyone else and thought about not doing any (since I rarely keep them) but then I thought "Tay you're motivated to change right now so whether it's New Years or not you need to set some goals." So I did. I actually wanted to set about 500 goals but then I knew I really wouldn't follow through so I thought about all the goalsI wanted to set and thought of one goal that would help me accomplish the rest of them.

1) To wake up at 7am. I know that might seem weird but I usually wake up at 9 (because I went to bed at 12 or 1am the night before) sluggishly get out of bed, do my treatments, get something to eat, forget prayer and scriptures and before I know it it's noon and I have done 2 things and I'm still in my P.J's. I needed to have better structure to accomplish my 500 goals so I decided that waking up a 7 would help me a little with each goal I want to accomplish. As I get down the 7am thing I'll be able to set better goals to help me with everything else I want to do. This is also helping me go to bed earlier. I was asleep but 10:30 last night. My goal for this is to be getting ready for bed by 9 so I can be in bed by 10 and asleep but 10-10:30.

2) I want to be more spiritual at the end of this year then I am now. I know that's very broad and I need to set smaller goals to help me do this but it's a start. Plus the 7am thing is helping me with this too. This is my first morning doing it and I already feel more spiritual.

Tayler = not creative

Make It And Love It

So I'm not creative at all and I want to be so badly. And I love people who are!!!!! Anyway I was looking at my friends blog and she had this button "make it and love it" I went to check out the website and ended up staring at this blog for at least an hour!!!!!! This woman is sooooo creative and makes things SO easy for people like me who are not creative at all! Anyway I put her button on my blog because I know I'll be going back often!! I'm going down to S.D this Saturday and I'm going to try to steal my moms sewing machine (since she's not using it right now) and start making things for people in my ward. I always think "when I have a baby then I'll get into that stuff" but what if it's just a fad. So I'm going to start now (when I have the time) and just do some fun things. We'll see how it goes. Anyway check it out here or click the button.

Halloween Fun!

Saturday Jarom and I went to a Halloween party put on by our good friends Noah and Rhawnie Miller. We didn't want to spend to much money on costumes but we wanted to do something a little creative so we went as Steve Jobs and the iPhone

.

Ha Lahen came late to the party and didn't wear a costume so she threw on this wig that Rhawnie had. :]

Then every Monday before Halloween my family always gets together for a FHE halloween. We've been doing it since I was little and I love it! Jarom, Will, and I carved pumpkins. Well Lahren started the pumpkin and Will finished.

Jarom did the headless horseman and I did the ghost in the graveyard.

Will did the pirate. arrrgggg

Then we had chili and Lahren made some Halloween cookies. We also had our traditional Halloween story about Gregory Ghost and Patty Pumpkin. :]

The cookies Lahren made and my moms cute Munster Village.

Also Lahren took some of the Pumpkin seeds and toasted them. I thought they were really good but I wasn't the only one. Grant is the one of the pickiest boys alive and he could not get enough of them. He loved them. It was great. :]

$8 Furniture!

Anyway I was really excited when I thought of doing this. I'm not super creative but I got these pieces of furniture from my grandma. She passed away a while ago but my parents are finally selling her mobile home so we had to get rid of everything. I took a chair and a bookcase thingy. Haha I'm not sure what we'll do with it yet. Anyway all I had to do was buy the spray paint. :]

I didn't get a before picture of the chair but it was dark green and fading in some places.

I forgot to take a before pic of this also but I thought about it half way through so the bottom half is the color it used to be.

The fully finished product! :]

Pretty good huh? I have to admit I was pretty proud of myself. I like when I think of creative things. It makes me feel... creative. :]

New Purse

So I made this purse a couple weeks ago and I totally forgot to do a post about it. You may be wondering why I used the word made instead of bought. Yes I indeed made this purse with the help of my wonderful mother-in-law Sue; who stayed up with me until midnight to finish it.

It was so much fun! Thanks Sue-mom :] for helping me make this and fixing all my mistakes because if it weren't for you it definitely would not look this good. I also have to give a shout out to rahn-dad who waited and watched the cartoon avatar until we were done. Thanks to both of you!!

Halloween Costumes

So last Saturday our ward had the Trunk-Or-Treat. It was a lot of fun. Jarom ran a game booth and I helped judge best kids costume!! Jarom and I also got recognized for... well honestly I don't know what it was for... I guess they just wanted to recognize our costumes. Haha we didn't get a prize or anything.

We went as "Where's Waldo" and Wenda.

We only had a $10 budget. This was the best I could do. :)

Except for nobody knew who I was. They either thought Jarom and I were both Waldo or I was "Waldo's wife." If you don't remember who Wenda is let me jog your memory...

Anyway I thought it was a cute idea. :) But it was kind of annoying to have to explain my costume all night. :) I guess next time I'll have to start shopping earlier and find Jarom a bigger striped shirt but people probably would have still thought we were both Waldos. :/ :p
