Everything In Between

These are a bunch of little things that happened since before we moved until this point. Just wanted to document some stuff...

Rhonda got this for me for Mother's day because Jarom and I love to do puzzles! Isn't that a cute idea?!

This month of school has been kicking my rear end. I still have 3 weeks left from today (a 14 week course.) This was after three weeks of study before my first exam. I'm doing Anatomy and Physiology. I thought I loved learning about the body until I took this course. Phew I am tired... and practically don't care anymore about how my cells work. Actually if things made sense I would probably love it. The things I do understand I am fascinated with... but that like one thing out of 1000.

Levi and I have been trying to do some fun summer things here in SD since we moved. The have this new down town spray area that is so fun. That is pretty much how high the water comes up but Levi loved running through the sprayers. I've wanted to do more fun water things except... (see photo below)

About 3 months ago I discover I was allergic to the cold! Yes the cold. I know of only one other person who has an allergic reaction to the cold which is why I even thought of it in the first place. Seriously if I had never met my friend I wouldn't even know it was possible. Anyway playing in the water is hard because even if it doesn't feel cold, just having the wind blow across my wet legs makes me break out really badly. This photo was taken on a GORGEOUS day at the beach. I'm so bummed because it itches SO badly and it's really preventing our fun water time. :( Going in the pool, sprinklers, even really humid cool air makes me start breaking our. Doctors don't know the cause and it can start at any time in your life and stop at any time. It's super annoying.

We've also been having fun with our cousins who live 1 min walking distance from our house. This is not he way to Sea World.

Levi LOVES Henry and Henry tolerates Levi. :) Henry is a dog that likes his own space and Levi really loves being in his space. It's a love/hate relationship. :)

And last we had a 4th of July party with the family (although no pictures were taken). We came home to watch the fireworks which we could see pretty well from our balcony. It was a nice ending to a good (and somewhat stressful) day. :)

That's all the odds and ends for now! :)

Del Mar Fair

We don't always do the fair because it's stresses Jarom out but we did this year and it was fun. I'm not sure it was worth the money spent and we probably won't go back next year but we still had a good time. We did the butterfly and exhibit, Levi did a ride, and then we walked around and looked at some exhibits.

Levi loved this boat ride and threw a fit when he had to get off. Sorry kid but it was over $2 for one ride.

Run for the Rosa's

We don't get into horse racing much although I really understand people who do. That would probably be my favorite "sport" to watch. Short and intense. :) This year though a horse named California Chrome was racing and he had won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes. We all got together and had a party to watch him in the Belmont Stakes. If he had won all three he would have received the triple crown. We were all VERY hopeful but alas, he didn't win the Belmont Stakes. It was still fun to watch and get together for. Lahren and Rhonda created a very cute party. Lahren did most of the decor and Rhonda did all the financing... as she normally does... because that is part of her big heart and generous nature. <3 nbsp="" p="">
Anyway the theme of the party was "Run for the Rosa's" because it was a family party for Rhonda and her last name is Rosa. :) Also if you're not into horse racing at all theres a popular race called "Run for the Roses."

Utah Family Reunion

The first week of July was the Utah family reunion. The first official family reunion for just Rahn, Sue, and their kids. It was really nice to be with everyone. The only downside was families share everything, including illness. We all got really sick and it was hard to recover being at someone else's home. Levi wasn't sleeping well in the pack n' play (which meant we weren't sleeping well) plus on top of having a cold he had 4 teeth come in. Poor guy!

Anyway we tried to have some fun while we were up there...

Watching a little morning TV with the cousins (and uncle)

Climbing the stairs

4th of July water games and fireworks

Playing the piano with grandma

We went to Salt Lake for the day but we were all feeling pretty lousy and it was so hot. We were all feeling a little blah.

When we got home we had two weeks worth of mail that you loved to play with.

I forgot to mention that on the way up we stopped at some model homes with was perfect for you. It was nice and col plus you could crawl around.

7 Month and Other Stuff

I haven't updated in so long. Mainly because everything revolves around you and so I usually just do your monthly post but I'm also on facebook and instagram so any little picture I just post on there.

Well you are over 7 months old. You are growing like a weed but you're not changing so much when it comes to tricks. These are your new things:

~ Crawling. You're not full force crawling yet. You get up on your hands and knees and then take a couple "steps" and then fall forward but you're so long and quick that you move fast. You also pull the carpet to help you get forward.

~ You love to stand and when you're in a good position you can get up pretty good but you're still pretty wobbly and fall over a lot. Although that doesn't stop you because you love to do it!! Even if you fall on your face over and over and over!

~ You love to jump...and jump... and jump but only while I'm holding you and helping you so I've been getting a good work out!

~ You still have no teeth so it's been hard to feed you anything you have to chew. And we've completely weaned you which was bitter-sweet. You do formula, baby cereal, and pureed baby foods. In fact I just got a book from Amazon that has a bunch of all natural recipes. :]

~ We sold the Ellen Origami stroller and got a Graco Jogger which we both love more. I've been walking so much more with you and you love it also.

~ About a week ago you fell off the bed (you're just to mobile) so we set up the Pack n' Play in our room. You take naps in there and fall asleep and night and then we transfer you.
Living in a one bedroom is so fun... or not.

Alright well I haven't had a lot to post like I said because of Instagram and Facebook but I do have a bunch of photos that I put on Instagram that I'll do here:

May is CF awareness month and you've been great at helping me with my treatments... kind of. Usually you get into everything so I stick you in the exersaucer and put on the "Lorax" (oh which is your favorite show... you love the music) while I finish.

I registered for school. I finished Pathways a year ago and became a full fledged BYU-I student. I finally signed up for my first classes and I'm super nervous! I'm going to have to be really dedicated and not lazy at all. :/ Hmmm not a strong suit with me!

You went to the bay for the first time and loved it and if you can tell from the upper left picture Dallen came home!! YAY. We love having Uncle Dallen back from his mission

Random but I NEVER take pictures of me and I liked how these turned out plus there is a  reason why I took these. I've decided to wear my hair all natural. Yep I shower at night, scrunch it, and let it dry while I sleep. It saves SO much time which is what I was looking for. I just don't want to spend a bunch of time on my hair instead of with you (or cleaning, eating, treatments, relaxing, or soon to be doing school.) I've had such a hard time debating between long and short hair. I'm going to try this for a while.

Remember how I said you love to stand. Well you love to do it most when I'm trying to put you in your car seat because you don't like to sit in it. As soon as I try to put you in you wiggle out of my arms so you can stand up and look around.

And last everyone says you look like Jarom. I think you're a pretty good mix but this is a picture of me and Dallen. I definitley think you have some Abernathy genes in you but you still have your own look. You're just Levi. :]

The Sanctity of Marriage

I am one of the few people (or at least it feels that way) who still feel that marriage should stay between a man and a women. This does not mean I hate gays or think they shouldn't have equal rights. You might think, "Well marriage should be an equal right so you don't believe in equal rights for homosexuals." I think that's where things are misinterpreted. I don't look at marriage as a right. It is a privilege and covenant we make with God. God intended for marriage to be between husband and wife.

What I believe as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints comes from this message from The Family: A Proclamation to the World it says: "ALL HUMAN BEINGS—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose...Sacred ordinances [like marriage] and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally (an essential part of marriage)...THE FAMILY is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan."

My moral line stems from these truths. Marriage is between a man and a women. I know that's sounds really unfair, harsh, and difficult to accept but when you believe in God it's a simple as that.

Now my question is where is your line? I think the biggest argument I've heard about Prop 8 is that if you love someone, you should be able to marry them. Simple as that. Or is it that simple? It seems simple but if that's how people really feel where's the line? What about when people come forward who love more then one someones (polygamy), a sibling, parent, or even animal. Are we going to allow these people to marry because they're in love? Is your line just wherever you personally want it to be so you can do whatever you want, but then when it comes to something you don't want the argument changes?

Everyone seemed pretty happy back in 2008 when the California supreme court overturned the peoples vote to keep marriage between a man and a women but what if the tables had been turned. What if the people voted against prop 8 legalizing gay marriage, and the supreme court had overturned that? Who would have been happy then? Wouldn't the people have been in an uproar about the supreme court getting involved where they shouldn't? It seems that many people in society don't care where the "moral line" is in many areas (whether marriage or something else) as long as they're getting what they want.

A visit from the Santee Clan...

Well half of them. Back on December 20th Lahren, Grant, Bryce, and Rhonda came up for a visit to hang out and look at the Christmas lights on Thoughrobred (which were still good but not as great as last year.) We went to Bass Pro Shop during the day because they have a Santa's village that is really cool and FREE! Amazing that there are still free fun things to do in this world. :]

They stopped by the apartment first and Bryce and Grant both held Levi. Not for the first time but the first time they both seemed to enjoy it. Bryce was incredibly jealous of Levi when he first came (well at least when Lahren was holding him) and Grant was a little leery at first also. I think we're good now.

<3 p="p">

On the carousel at Bass Pro Shop.. Still my Chunky. :]

A target/shooting game. It was fun except the target was totally off. I mean I know I'm not a great shot but this really was ridiculous. Still fun though.

Cowboy Grant

Later that night after the lights. Just me and my baby sitting in front of the fire.
